General Information about Saturday Session

The Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section Saturday Session serves as a vehicle for the Oregon bankruptcy community to discuss problems and exchange ideas about potential improvements to bankruptcy practice in the District of Oregon. The Saturday Session is typically held in Salem on a Saturday in the Spring. Attendance has historically been limited to about 60 people in order to encourage meaningful discussion. Recently, topic ideas for the Saturday Session have been based on the results of an anonymous survey of members of the Debtor-Creditor Section circulated in advance of the event. The Saturday Session has been the genesis of numerous new forms and court procedures over the years and always proves to be a lively, informative, and productive event.

The Saturday Session Committee starts its meetings each year in the Fall. The time commitment is minimal and participation allows Section members the opportunity to help shape the content of the event and plan the future direction of the Saturday Session. The Committee typically consists of the Chairperson, the Clerk of the Court, and one Oregon Bankruptcy Court judge. Section members are strongly encouraged to get involved. Anyone interested in joining the Committee should contact the Committee Chair, Loren Scott, for more information.
