Annual Meeting CLE

SAVE THE DATE! The Debtor-Creditor Annual Meeting and CLE is a celebrated tradition that our members look forward to each year to learn from one another, socialize, and strengthen our state-wide network of professional connections. The 2021 Debtor-Creditor Annual Meeting is scheduled to be held in-person in beautiful Sunriver, Oregon October 29-30, 2021. The ability to maintain our normal traditions is being continuously challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic, and as such, this may change to a virtual format. The determination will be made based upon the safest option for the health and wellness of the membership, Oregon State Bar staff, and the communities around us. We’ll post updates as the event draws near.

Due to COVID, the 2020 Annual Meeting was limited to a one-day interactive virtual event. The event and CLE was offered free to all Debtor/Creditor Section members. It was a huge success with wonderful, inspiring presenters. Here are excerpts from the 2020 virtual program:

Our esteemed slate of presenters in 2020 included Sr. Economist William (“Bill”) Rule (“Dr. Doom”) of the Administrative Office of U.S. Courts who gave a powerful presentation on the state of the economy at Saturday Session and will present updates since COVID-19. Nationally renowned Tara Twomey, Of Counsel to the National Consumer Law Center and the Project Director for the National Consumer Bankruptcy Rights Center spoke about the impact COVID-19 has had on emerging consumer issues.
