The Bankruptcy Clinic is a free service provided by the lawyers of the Oregon State Bar Debtor Creditor Section in partnership with Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Clinics are held throughout the year and consists of a class available to everyone, and attorney appointments which must be scheduled in advance through Legal Aid. Clinic services are limited to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy only.
The Bankruptcy Clinic classes are held in the evening. The clinic begins at 5:30pm with a 30-minute class for consumers. Following the class at 6:00pm pre-screened clients meet with pro bono attorneys. Each attorney meets with two clients for about 30 minutes each. Follow up work is done outside of the clinic. Bankruptcy Clinic alternate between locations. See schedule below.
Eligibility
There are no eligibility requirements to attend the Bankruptcy Clinic class. However, attorney appointments are available only to clients who live in Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah, Hood, Wasco, Sherman, Washington, and Yamhill Counties, who meet the Legal Aid income requirements and complete the clinic questionnaire. The requirements will be explained when you contact Legal Aid.

Attorneys interested in volunteering with the Bankruptcy Clinic should contact Jill Mallery at Legal Aid Services of Oregon, Central Office at 503.471.1138.
Training materials for the Bankruptcy Clinic are available at www.probonooregon.org. Once you create a password, the site administrator will approve your membership in 1-2 business days. You will then have access to the Resource Library, which includes recorded video of the most recent Bankruptcy Clinic CLE, as well as written materials.
